The Burach Bhadi or Wizard's Shackle is a four to six foot long serpentine leech with nine eyes from the western isles in Scotland. It's attracted by the smell of horses. It likes to hide in small waterways and wait for people to ride horses across the water. It then wraps around the horse and possibly its rider, and drag them down to be eaten. When food is scarce, they will either search for food on land or eat other Burach Bhadi.
