New Zealand Globster
The New Zealand Globster is a large unidentified carcass that washed ashore at Muriwai, on the west coast of North Island, New Zealand, in 1968. It was 30 ft (9.1 m) long and 8 ft (2.4 m) high. J. E. Morton, chairman of the Zoology Department at the University Of Auckland, said that he couldn't "think of anything it resembles."

Like most globsters of its kind, it is more than likely nothing more than the washed up decaying remnants of whale blubber that has broken off from a whale's corpse. Since the whale's corpse itself will mostly be consumed and sink to the bottom of the ocean and the blubber will be subject to oceanic currents that can carry it many miles from its origin, people can be quite unlikely to associate the two objects to one another.
